06 Nov Celebrity Coffee Brands We’re Buzzing About
Celebrities have long been popular (and well-paid) coffee brand ambassadors. Take George Clooney’s endorsement of Nespresso coffee. Or, Chef Brandon Jew’s partnership with Equator Coffee to create Double Happiness, an organic, fair-trade coffee from Ethiopia.
But, these days, it’s not just about celebrity coffee partnerships and endorsements. Instead, celebrities are creating and co-founding coffee brands themselves. From brews inspired by shared moments of joy to beans from female-owned farms, the ethos of each celebrity coffee brand is unique. It got us thinking. Could celebrity coffee brands add some buzz to your office coffee program?
A World Steeped in Celebrity Coffee Brands
You may have heard of the show “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” with Jerry Seinfeld. It’s been streamed millions of times on Netflix, even after filming ceased in 2019. Why? Because we love the pairing of famous comics and caffeine. Or, take Ben Affleck’s longstanding love for Dunkin’ Donuts. From Super Bowl ads to his go-to coffee order on the company’s menu – DunKings Iced Coffee – coffee and fame are a good match.
Even more exciting are the celebrities founding or co-founding their own brands. Here’s a round-up of some that Coolbreakrooms thinks will pique your interest. Would you add any of these brews to your office breakroom?
Happy Coffee by Robert Downey Jr.
One of the newest celebrity brands on our list is Happy Coffee, co-founded by Robert Downey Jr. in 2024, with entrepreneur Craig Dubitsky. Born from a passion for coffee and a desire to focus on positive messages, Happy Coffee aims to make people, you guessed it, happy. Made from select green coffee from responsible growers and slow-roasted for deep complex notes, there’s no question it’s a great cup of coffee to add to your office pantry offerings. There’s more to this brand though. A portion of Happy Coffee proceeds go to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) aligning with the brand’s mission to elevate the everyday.
Laughing Man Coffee by Hugh Jackman
In 2009, Hugh Jackman was visiting Ethiopia with his wife, to learn about where coffee is grown. When he got to the small farm, in the tiny village, he met Dukale, who was such a vibrant, welcoming host, it changed Hugh forever. After planting trees and learning about farming, Hugh returned home with an appreciation for how coffee bonds people in a community. Back in New York, he enlisted his friends, Barry and David Steingard, to start Laughing Man Coffee. To this day, the Fair Trade coffee brand supports coffee farmers worldwide, like Dukale.
Kiss Café by Jadakiss
Rapper Jadakiss, whose real name is Jason Phillips, is part of a long-standing, family-owned coffee company called Kiss Café. It’s been a vital part of the Phillips family since 1977, when Bob Phillips, Jason’s father, started the business. Now Bob’s grandson Jaewon is part of the legacy. Created with honesty and accessibility, Kiss Café is premium coffee, blended and produced with legacy and quality in mind. Each sip is a success story passed down through the generations.
27 Club Coffee by Machine Gun Kelly
Opened in 2020 by Colson Baker, aka Machine Gun Kelly, the 27 Club is actually a coffee lounge in Cleveland, Ohio. Named for musicians and actors who all died at 27 years old, like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, and Amy Winehouse, it’s not surprising the coffee features names like Voodoo Child, Diablo, and Blonde Don. The last has Machine Gun Kelly himself on the bag. This coffee is available by subscription and mail order if you’re located outside of Ohio. For full impact, brew this coffee (and any coffee) with filtered office water.
Dios Mio Coffee by Sofia Vergara
Another new coffee brand founded in 2024 is Dios Mio Coffee by Sofia Vergara. It’s a celebration of great-tasting coffee and the women who grow it. Behind every cup of Dios Mio coffee lies a story of dedication, passion, and hardworking women. Sofia wanted to do more than empower these strong, incredible coffee growers, she wanted to support them. It led her to Dios Mio, coffee so good it makes Sofia say “Oh my God.” Dios Mios is Colombian coffee and a tribute to Latina women.
Ralph Lauren Coffee by Ralph Lauren
Ralph Lauren Coffee is the brain-child of designer Ralph Lauren and the brand’s goal is to evoke memories of time with loved ones. While created by Ralph, it’s brewed and packaged by La Colombe, a company with its own story of coffee excellence. In 2014, Ralph Lauren Coffee was served in the first coffee shop inside the Ralph Lauren flagship store in New York. The coffee brand includes Ralph’s Roast, Decaf, and Espresso, from organic beans grown in Central and South America, and Africa. Consider it a luxury brew to go with your company’s modern self-checkout market.
Hanx Coffee by Tom Hanks
Hanx is coffee with a cause. Founded by Tom Hanks in 2022, 100% of the profits from this brand go to support those who served America, from active duty to veterans and their families. The brand doesn’t overly tout Hank’s involvement, instead focusing on the stories of veterans, though it notes that Tom has played many American service roles. The brand’s website, Give Hanx, plays on the words Give Thanks and is meant for those who serve.
Florence by Mills Coffee By Millie Bobby Brown
Florence by Mills Coffee, or FBMC, is an iced coffee brand full of fun and flavor launched by Millie Bobby Brown. The British actress, producer, and entrepreneur established the FBMC brand to bring her coffee into people’s homes. Brown considers the coffee for Gen-Z and their need for self-expression, though the name Florence was Millie’s great-grandma, a woman who embraced life and happiness. FBMC is available through e-commerce sites in the U.S.
